Quality Assurance

Family of ISO 9000 Standards:

1. ISO 9001: Quality Systems – Model for Quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing. The requirement standard to use for assessment / certification and covers activities including design / development of the products/services, production, installation and servicing.

2. ISO 9002: Quality Systems – Model for Quality assurance in production, installation and servicing. The requirement standard for organizations that perform production, installation and servicing. But, are not responsible for design/development of product/services. It is a subset of ISO 9001.

3. ISO 9003: Quality Systems – Model for Quality assurance in final inspection and test. The requirement standard for organizations only interested in demonstrating their capability in final inspection / test. It is a subset of ISO 9001 and ignores requirements in design/development of the products/services, production, installation and servicing.

4. ISO 8402: Quality management and assurance vocabulary. This defines the fundamental terms used in ISO 9000 family.

5. ISO 9000-1: Quality management and assurance standards – Part 1. Guidelines for selection and use. This document acts as the starting point for understanding and selecting the standards appropriate to an organization’s needs from the ISO 9001 family.

6. ISO 9000-2: Quality management and assurance standards – Part 2. Generic guidelines for the application of ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003. This provides assistance in selection between ISO 9001, ISO 9002 and ISO 9003 and has guidelines for interpretation and application.

7. ISO 9000-3: Quality management and assurance standards – Part 3. Guidelines for the application of ISO 9001:1994 to the development, supply, installation and maintenance of computer software. This provides an interpretation of ISO 9001 specific for software development applications.

8. ISO 9000-4: Quality management and assurance standards – Part 4. Guide to dependability program management. This provides guidance for planning, organizing, and controlling resources to produce reliable and maintainable products.

9. ISO 9004-1: Quality management and quality system elements – Part 1: Guidelines. This provides guidelines to implement a quality system to satisfy customers and organizations needs.

10. ISO 9004-2: Quality management and quality system elements – Part 2: Guidelines for services. Similar to ISO 9004-1, this standard has guidelines designed specially for the service sector.

11. ISO 9004-3: Quality management and quality system elements – Part – 3: Guidelines for processed materials. This standard provides the quality management guidelines applicable for producers of processed materials that are typically provided in bulk.

12. ISO 9004-4: Quality management and quality system elements – Part – 4: Guidelines for quality improvement. This standard provides guidelines for implementing continuous quality improvement within an organization, using tools and techniques based on data collection and analysis.

13. ISO 10005: Quality Management – Guidelines for quality plans.

14. ISO 10006: Guidelines to quality in project management.

15. ISO 10007: Quality Management – Guidelines for configuration management

16. ISO 10011-1: Guidelines for auditing quality systems-Part 1: Auditing

17. ISO 10011-2: Guidelines for auditing quality systems-Part 2: Qualification Criteria for Quality system auditors.

18. ISO 10011-3: Guidelines for auditing quality systems-Part 3: Management of audit program.

19. ISO 10012-1: Quality assurance requirements for measuring equipment – Part 1: Metrological confirmation system for measuring equipments

20. ISO 10012-2: Quality assurance requirements for measuring equipment – Part 2: guidelines for control of measurement processes.

21. ISO 10013: Guidelines for developing quality manuals.
